General Questions

What is CBD?

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a naturally-occurring chemical in industrial hemp (cannabis sativa) plants. CBD and THC are the most notable cannabinoids found in cannabis, though recent research has identified over 80 cannabinoids. Like THC, CBD is psychoactive and has been proven to offer therapeutic benefits, but it is non-intoxicating and does not cause a “high” sensation.

What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?

There are two sources of CBD: Hemp and Marijuana. While marijuana is legal for recreational use in 18 states (as of now), growing and selling industrialized hemp was legalized nationwide in the 2014 Farm Bill.

Both hemp and marijuana belong to the cannabis genus of plants. Cannabis is defined as hemp or marijuana based on its THC content. Under the 2018 Farm Bill (Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018), industrial hemp must have less than 0.3% THC by concentration, while marijuana can have THC levels as high as 25-30%.

What is Full Spectrum CBD and what is the Entourage Effect?

Full spectrum CBD refers to the full plant extract. In Chinese Medicine, we place an emphasis on using the whole plant. The theory behind this is that within each plant is a complex system of complementary chemicals that work in synergy, creating harmony. So while CBD is an effective cannabinoid, it is even more powerful when used within a full-spectrum hemp oil that also includes cannabinoids like CBN, CBC, CBL, THC, etc.

At Arogya, we use a full spectrum hemp extract that contains a full profile of cannabinoids, not just CBD, and a host of terpenes, antioxidants, and flavonoids. The complete profile of cannabinoids and other naturally occurring phytonutrients work together to produce the best results for the user. In industry terms, this synergistic interaction of all the compounds from the cannabis plant is called the “entourage effect.”

What is the difference between Full Spectrum and Broad Spectrum CBD?

Full-spectrum products contain trace amounts of THC with a legal limit of 0.3% by concentration. Broad-spectrum CBD contains all the same cannabinoids and compounds as full-spectrum CBD, with the exception of THC.

What is the Endocannabinoid System and how does CBD interact with it?

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a biological system that regulates and controls key functions in the body. This sophisticated network of neurotransmitters and receptors helps create and maintain homeostasis in the body by supporting various functions, including temperature regulation, pain control, hormonal balance, resistance to infection, and more. Every organ in the human body is filled with neurotransmitters called endocannabinoids. They are located most prominently in the brain, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells.

The benefits of CBD used both topically and internally are due to the endocannabinoid system. CBD oil contains biological compounds called cannabinoids that are structurally similar to the endocannabinoids naturally produced in our bodies. The body receives cannabinoids as though they were a natural product of the body itself, thereby creating a very harmonious response.

Arogya full spectrum CBD products contain a complete profile of cannabinoids that may act like a “key” to unlock the neurotransmitters in the body.

Do your products contain THC?

Our full-spectrum CBD products contain low levels of THC within the federal threshold of less than 0.3% THC. The whole hemp extract we use for our CBD oil blends contains the complete profile of cannabinoids, including THC, to ensure that users benefit from the “entourage effect.”

The concentration of THC in our full-spectrum CBD is too low to present any noticeable intoxicating effects in the recommended dosage.

Does CBD get you high?

CBD is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid and does not cause a “high” like THC.

Is CBD safe for children?

Research into the effects of CBD products on children is still in the preliminary stages. We recommend talking to your child’s pediatrician before adding CBD to your child’s routine.

Are CBD products safe for pets?

When considering CBD products for your pets, it’s important to remember that CBD meant for humans can have a higher concentration that may not be appropriate for your pet.

We recommend that you check with your veterinarian before introducing your pet to CBD products and discuss what dosage is right for your pets.

Product Questions

How is your full-spectrum extract processed?

The full-spectrum hemp extract used in our products is processed in one of two ways:

1. Supercritical CO2 Extraction
2. Ice Water Extraction

Both of these extraction methods retain a vast number of the phytonutrients, terpenes, antioxidants, and flavonoids in the hemp plant to create a potent CBD oil with a high bioavailability of cannabinoids. The companies we source our hemp extract from have strict quality control standards put in place, so we know that each batch we receive is clean, high-grade, and rigorously third-party tested.

What are the benefits of Ice Water Extraction?

Solvent-free, reverse osmosis ice water extraction produces a pure, high-quality product without added ingredients. The majority of other extraction methods use equipment, processes, or harsh solvents that can degrade or completely destroy the natural terpenes of hemp. By using only clean, reverse osmosis water and ice, this extraction method preserves hemps’ minor cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids and creates a high cannabinoid potency oil.

Product purity is not only dependent on the extraction process but also on the quality of the hemp strains used, which is why we take care to source our hemp domestically from companies we can trust. See “Where do you source your CBD?” for more information.

Where do you source your CBD?

We partner with R&R, a Colorado-based and veteran-owned company, because we trust them to deliver CBD that truly works. That starts with the seed farm where the hemp is grown. To ensure the best quality, R&R works closely with their local supply chain to farm single-sourced USDA Certified Organic hemp, free of chemicals or pesticides, just as nature intended. R&R uses a Proprietary Cherry Strain of USDA Certified Organic hemp for their products, resulting in a robust cannabinoid profile. From there, R&R uses Supercritical CO2 Extraction with their Specialized Filtration process to preserve a high level of cannabinoids, terpenes and other beneficial plant compounds to deliver the most efficacious experience.

We also partner with a Nebraska-based family farm of five generations that has more than 150 continuous years of farming experience. They use a solvent-free, reverse osmosis pure ice-water extraction method to capture all the phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids to create the fullest full-spectrum CBD. By using their proprietary ice-water extraction method, they are able to assure minimal loss of hemp’s natural terpenes in the extraction process. They use both onsite and third-party lab testing to ensure product purity, quality, and safety.

Is your CBD third party tested?

Yes, all the CBD used in our products is third party tested. See “Where do you source your CBD?” for more information on sourcing and testing.

For additional information regarding lab testing, please contact us by emailing info@arogya.net.

How much CBD should I take?

Dosage guidelines are product specific. Follow the directions listed on your product label or locate the "How to Use" tab on the relevant product page.

How should I apply CBD roll-on oils?

While all our topical CBD products offer comprehensive aroma-therapeutic benefits, we have different application recommendations for products whose primary function is to enact a harmonizing effect on the mind or the body.

CBD oils for the mind: Anxiety, Stress, Sleep, and In Sync.
How to use: Apply liberally to the neck, behind the ears, and on the chest. Rub into the skin and deeply inhale the scent.

CBD oils for the body: Flex and Fire + Ice.
How to use: Apply liberally to the affected areas for targeted relief. Rub into the skin and reapply as needed.

Should I avoid using topical CBD oils on burns, scars, or broken skin?

Topical CBD products should not be used on open wounds, broken skin, or severe burns.

Arogya CBD Scar Cream can be used on new and old scars and may help promote healing and diminish the appearance of scarring.

Why are the CBD roll-on oils different colors?

Arogya’s signature CBD roll-on oils differ in color due to the unique combination of essential oils in each blend. Essential oils are highly concentrated extracts from flowers, roots, bark, and leaves. The distillation process can bring forth rich colors in certain botanicals, and the origin and quality of essential oils can also influence their color.

For example, Blue Tansy and German Chamomile are deep blue essential oils and are responsible for the green hue of our Sleep and Flex blend, respectively.
